JinkoSolar has announced that it will supply a 4.82-megawatt-hour (MWh) utility-scale energy storage system to Solarmate Engineering Ltd in Nigeria.
This is one of JinkoSolar’s utility-scale energy storage projects to be built in Nigeria. The integrated energy storage system will improve efficiency at the local power station by reducing the need for emergency backup spinning reserves, therefore lowering fuel consumption.
JinkoSolar’s megawatt-scale energy storage stations have been installed in Nigeria and other African countries, with the key highlights including integrated modular and pre-assembled design to save space and installation time, high energy density, prolonged service life of 6,000-8,000 cycled times, air cooling and liquid cooling mechanism option available to provide temperature uniformly within battery and cabinet, wider temperature range from -20 to 60 Celsius degree, AC-DC-AC efficiency shown to be as high as 95%, an industry benchmark high; DC to DC efficiency as high as 96%.
